Nicholson Marine Services, Inc. (NMS) was established in 2004 by husband-wife owners, Drew and Lauren Nicholson.
Drew Nicholson, Owner and Chief Technician, has extensive experience in the boating industry and numerous certifications. Prior to starting his own marine service business in 2004, Drew was a marine technician for two large marinas in Rhode Island and a SeaRay dealer in Massachusetts; and earlier, was a sailing instructor and was responsible for fleet maintenance at the Community Sailing Club in Worcester, MA. Drew graduated with honors from the New England Institute of Technology's Marine Technology program, is an ABYC Certified Marine Electrician & Air Conditioning Technician, and Dometic/Vacuflush "Supertech." He is factory-trained on Mercruiser, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Kohler, Westerbeke, and Yamaha marine engines. Drew is a licensed US Coast Guard Captain.
Lauren Nicholson, Owner and Business Manager, oversees the administrative, bookkeeping, and customer service functions at Nicholson Marine. She formerly held positions in marketing and public relations for the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Providence and the Governor's Press Office in Boston, MA since obtaining a B.A. in Communications at Suffolk University, with continuing education in Finance and Accounting at Bryant University. Lauren spent the winter of 2015 as a Manager at Faro Blanco Yacht Club in the Florida Keys, and has been the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Catalina 36 International Association since 2010, and also serves as the Editor of its quarterly owners' magazine.
Nicholson Marine Services operated for nearly 10 years in Warwick, Rhode Island, most recently out of Wharf Marina, before deciding to leave the snowy winters behind in 2013 and relocate to southwest Florida.
